Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) is located in Reno, Nevada, and has been operational. In 2016 it served over 2.4 million passengers, making it the fourth busiest airport in the United States. The airport is composed of three terminals: Terminal 1, which serves Delta Air Lines and United Airlines; Terminal 3, which serves Alaska Airlines; and Terminal 2, which is used for general aviation. RNO also has a cargo terminal and apron.
The airport was originally named Reno Air Force Base and was used as a military airbase during World War II. In 1945 the airfield was transferred to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and became an important commercial airport. The original terminal building was constructed in 1949 and was replaced in 2007 by a new terminal building that features a concourse that spans both levels of the building. In addition to its passenger facilities, RNO also has a helipad and apron for large aircraft.
